David Letterman has been a relentless critic of John McCain's ever since the Republican canceled an appearance on his show in September. McCain lied to Letterman, saying that the economy required his immediate attention and that he would be flying back to Washington to save the country. However, McCain then proceeded to do an interview down the street with Katie Couric. Thursday night, McCain attempted to make amends when he finally appeared on the show. "I screwed up," McCain said. In this clip, Keith Olbermann applauds David Letterman for asking the candidate about Palin's readiness to serve and McCain's ties to domestic terrorist G. Gordon Liddy, as well as other tough questions that the "professionals" have failed to ask.
