  • So right at the moment when new scholarship is leading to a new understanding of the New Deal's undemocratic tendencies and its economic failures, The Nation puts itself right into the middle of the debate... by failing to acknowledge it even exists, let alone engaging it with more than the bite of a toothless 14-year-old Weimaraner. Once again proving that the left in America remains your True Oldies Channel, playing the greatest hits of decades past.

  • The economy in 2008 seems fairly similar to that in 1992, since American consumer confidence is shaken again. Americans seem just about or less confident in the economy now with George W. Bush as President as they were with his father as President. The problems with the economy are obviously Iraq and the subprime housing bust, among other economic vacuums. Those pulling marketing scams such as false home refinancing pitches are also hurting the economy as well.

So, do we wait the economy out till the next Administration, given that Bush and Cheney are not listening at all to the American public's needs and interests, or is impeachment still necessary at this point?
