In this article, the author presents information on works of author, Constance Rourke, by reviewing some of her books, specially "American Humor." Constance Rourke's approach to her materials combined the care of a disciplined worker, the wariness and taste of a connoisseur, and the never-flagging excitement of a pioneer breaking new trails. According to the author, Rourke was not an antiquarian but a critic whose purpose was to relate and correlate, and not to collect. "American Humor" was further subtitled "A Study of the National Character." As per Rourke's view, this book is a study of the forms of the American imagination.
