A Book entitled "Fascist Economic Policy: An Analysis of Italy's Economic Experiment," by William G. Welk should be devoted to Fascist economic policy. But Welk gives over the first 155 pages of his book to a description of origins of the Fascist movement and the political and administrative institutions of Fascism. In addition, he devotes an appendix to legal texts, most of which are concerned with the very machinery described in the first part of the book. The author concludes that while the leading economic policies adopted by the Fascist regime may have served to increase the country's economic independence and prestige, they cannot be said, so far at least, to have contributed to its economic advancement or to an increase in the economic well-being of the Italian people.
