Last week the author drew attention to the fact that implementation of the U.S. administration's international economic program would involve the abandonment, or at least modification, of many deeply rooted American economic practices. Just for, that reason a good deal more thought needs to be given to the meaning of that program in terms of actual trade situations if the U.S. is not to find itself one day welshing on its own ideals. The author has no doubt that the U.S. administration, in spearheading a campaign to break down trade barriers the world over, is absolutely sincere.
